Henley-on-Thames, England — There's a chill in the air and ominous skies above, but the Henley Women's Regatta is nearly underway here on the River Thames. Today's forecast is calling for periods of rain, becoming heavy at times in the afternoon. The temperature isn't expected to reach the 60s and a 15 to 25 mph wind is expected. Chances of rain are set at 80 percent and the rainfall should accumulate to around a half an inch.
The Purdue women's varsity eight is set to face Tyne Rowing Club at 1:00 pm (9 am EST). The crew was in high spirits last night. Focused and determined. The team meeting emphasized making a fast, clean start off the Thames starting line. The crew is also looking to focus on the technique of every stroke, to deter from being caught up with the numerous distractions it will encounter during the race.
Dadvail.org has secured a spot in the race's launch and will be trailing directly behind the Purdue boat. Check back later for pictures, video and a full story.
